Text Box: Blu Skie is is the beginning stages of bringing WiFi to Kalkaska’s Downtown area with capability to expand this technology throughout the Village as needed.  Just let us know how you want us to progress. WiFi (short for Wireless Fidelity) will allow businesses and residents the opportunity to have high-speed internet connectivity without costly equipment and contracts.  Simply having a computer with wireless capability, you will be able to access the network and enjoy speeds of at least  2x faster than your current dial up connection, maybe more! Blu Skie will be offering free access during the initial stages of this project and would appreciate your input on the speed and ease of use.  Just go online & search for available networks.  Choose “Welcome to Kalkaska’s WIFI”  and follow the online directions!  WiFi

July 27, 2006 Started providing free access to the "Welcome to Kalkaska Wi-Fi".    User Id: Guest   Password: FreePass This hot-zone exists between 3rd & 4th Streets on Cedar Street, and from the railroad tracks (East of Downtown) to partly into the storefronts in downtown.  Some people have reported that they can get it in the Kalkaska Library.
